Richard Frank "Eagle" Louis was born January 16, 1964 in St James, Barbados. In 1980, Richard represented Barbados in the Carifta Games in Bermuda, where he won 2 gold medals (200, 400 meter) and 1 silver (200 meter) in the under 17 boy's category. This led him to win the Austin Sealy Trophy, which is presented to the most outstanding athlete. In 1981, he won the men's 400 meter in a meet-record time of 46.62.
Richard started his U.S. track career at Howard University in the fall of 1981, and quickly impacted the team as a rookie. His accomplishments led him to make the Barbados Olympic team at the 1984 games in Los Angeles, CA, where he made the 4x400 finals.
Richard was very much involved with cricket. He was President of the South Florida Cricket Association, Captain of the Northeast Masters, Central Florida Cricket League, Brooklyn League (Swansea) and the USA National Cricket Team. He was also the captain of this club's team. His last accomplishment as Captain was winning the Division II Championship in 2024.
